Eintein loved numbers. I never liked math, but i do think numbers are interesting. Take, for instance, the number two. It could be said to represent duality, difference, opposition, that sort of thing. And the number one might conjure a sense of integration, inclusiveness, and unity, wholeness. Wholeness and completion.
In a way, our world is a Number-Two World. There is duality and contradiction everywhere you look if that's what you're tuned into, and that's part of what makes it interesting. Duality can be dramatic and exciting, it can be challenging, it can be painful, things are always butting up against each other… Looks a little like this: “ow, that f**king hurt!”, and then, before long: “Ooo, give me some more!”
There is another dimension – underneath the constantly shifting and changing “two energy” of duality and contrast – that we could call the zero dimension. (Bear with this, it gets clear and practical in no time, you'll like it.) The zero dimension is a good place to hang out – the best there is really – because it's the place where all the potential is, and where everything flows with clarity and joy. Once you get good at resting there, I'm told, you can operate in the Number Two World with enormous effectiveness and without being tossed about, ever, by the contrast – without suffering. Meanwhile, little visits to the realm of light, the zero realm, bring us healing and guidance here and now, and make it easier to come back and stay longer the next time.
Out of zero springs one and all the rest of the numbers. Maybe we could get from two to zero through one: the coming together of things that previously seemed separate.
So what would this look like in our daily lives? We could start by looking for ways to agree instead of disagree. Are you confronted by someone who's obviously talking nonsense? Dying to set them straight? That would be a two reaction, which always leads to unhappiness. Always. Imagine if there was a grain of truth in what this nonsense-person was babbling about. There usually is. Or one small thing that you could get on board with. Do you like the shoes they're wearing? Say so. Now you’re in agreement. That's a miracle; that's using one to get from two to zero.
What else in your life looks like two and is really one, when you look through eyes seeking agreement and unity? What have you pushed away? Imagine reconciliation, forgiveness. What looks like a problem? Look again. What is working in the situation? You can always find something. If you can't see it yet, then drop the whole thing for now and look in an entirely new direction, one with obvious potential and flow and ease. This will lift you up to a one consciousness. And from there, the momentum toward the zero realm is much greater. Eventually, it’s effortless to find agreement, beauty, wholeness, success. . . It becomes your reality.
The zero realm is always present. It underlies and permeates everything, and is the source of true happiness. Through choosing to see the one-ness of all things, we come home to this realm of changeless perfection at the center of ourselves.
