For those new to meditation, joining for just a few moments rather than the whole 45 might be good. See how you feel. Even oldies might just join for part of the time.
Begin simply by noticing your surroundings. Notice your breathing. If feeling busy-minded, count 10 nice, slow, easy breaths. Feel your body in the chair or on the mat. Allow gravity to do it's job; let any tension or holding drop down into the earth.
Realize that not only are there others doing this specific meditation with you right now (at 5 on Mon), but i wonder how many thousands of humans across the globe are in some form of meditation or prayer also, in this moment. Feel the energy of that support, that connection.
Continuing to breathe easily and freely, feeling very relaxed, just be still and aware for a few moments. Realize the gentleness in yourself, and the soft pulsation of Life around and in you.
Before you get up, give a moments thought to the fact of the full moon, and what you can in the next two weeks be letting go of. Not only are we starting a phase of release in the lunar cycle, but also the solstice marks a new phase in the seasons, the beginning of summer. Envision a leaving behind of the past season, and a welcoming in of the new. How do you want to feel this summer?
