Ever woken up feeling "off", thinking thoughts that are on the lower levels of the scale? Imagine making a choice to feel peace flowing through every action throughout your day. Let's say the dishes are waiting– a nice big, nasty, towering pile that you've let go for a couple of days. Maybe put on some music that you love. Feel the warm water on your hands, relaxing muscles that are used so frequently in so many different ways, for so many different tasks. Maybe gratitude for your hands arises. And your dishes, for that matter, and the abundance of food they were used for. Feel your feet on the ground, connected through intention to the Earth. Acknowledge the pleasure of making dirty things clean, and how nice it will feel afterwards to have a clear counter and empty sink. Acknowledge the power in this action, in the choice to do this good thing for your self. How many other people all around the world are doing their dishes at the same time? Hundreds of thousands? Millions? All making their world a better place through this small action of self-care. And you, you especially making a difference because you have chosen to do the dishes in peace.
