“Light shines from the cathedral tower, falling on the daisy growing from the cracks below. The flower bows; recognition. Life is far richer than we give it a chance to be. Love, beauty, and truth are shown to us in a thousand different ways each day that we miss completely because we are looking in another direction. In Buddhism it is said that to be born into a human life is an inconceivably rare occurrence. Am I glad to be alive? Whether the answer today is yes or no, I will benefit from inviting an experience of reverence. What might bring it on? Giving over to a sunset? Prayer or meditation? Connection with a holy person, or a smiling infant? A creative act? I may want to make a list of what I most respect and appreciate first about myself, and then about my loved ones, then - if it feels light-hearted – about those that seem to drive me crazy. What are they teaching me?
In reverence, time seems to drop away. The moment becomes saturated with something very alive; ordinary life might shimmer and glow for a moment. Maybe I feel something inside shift, expand… and I am deeply moved. I recognize both my smallness and my connection to something large. I stand in awe before the sacredness of Life.”
(As before, I went into meditation with the intent to draw a card to benefit all who reads this)
Reverence is meeting my Self. Reverence is the joy that springs from the depths of this very moment, when I allow myself to breathe and simply be. To realize my wonderfulness not because I’ve done anything, but because I exist. And to see that in everything my eyes behold. Let us give ourselves a chance to see the beauty that Life reveals to us today now that our eyes and hearts are open. Tune in tomorrow to see what day 4 reveals. See below for previous 2 card readings. Thank you.
